Tahoe Women's Community Fund announces awardees of $84,000 in grants

• Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless (Project: South Lake Tahoe Warm Room)
• Tahoe Prosperity Center (Project: Housing Tahoe’s Locals)
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Tahoe Women’s Community Fund has announced their 2019 grant recipients. This year, there were over 27 organizations who applied for the grants, with $84,000 being distributed to 14 non-profit organizations
Focus Grant recipients in the category of Poverty, Housing, or Basic Needs (up to $10,000 each):
• Tahoe Youth & Family Services (Project: Tahoe Youth Transitional Living Program:
• Tahoe Magic, Inc. (Project: One Time Family Emergency Housing Help Fund)
• Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless (Project: South Lake Tahoe Warm Room)
• Tahoe Prosperity Center (Project: Housing Tahoe’s Locals)
Focus Grant Recipients in the category of Mental Health & Wellness (up to $10,000 each):
• Juvenile Service Council (Project: Healthy Pathways to the Future)
• NAMI of El Dorado County (Project: NAMI in South Lake Tahoe support for Tweens,
Teens, Young Adults, and Family Caregivers)
Impact Grant Recipients in the category of Children & Youth (up to $4,000 each):
• Suicide Prevention Network (Project: Teen Workshops focused on Mental Health
Awareness and Suicide Prevention)
• CASA El Dorado (Project: Recruitment and Training of Volunteers)
• Lake Tahoe Conservation Fund (Project: Mountain Bikes for Local Youth Organizations)
Impact Grant Recipients in the category of Community, Art, or Culture (up to $4,000 each):
• Bringing Arts to Schools (BATS) (Project: Meet the Masters Portfolios of 9 Artists)
• Tahoe Arts Project (TAP) (Project: Support Performing Arts Education in 2019-2020
Season for all Local Schools)
Impact Grant Recipients in the category of Education & Literacy (up to $4,000 each):
• H.E.R.O. Scholarship Fund (Project: Scholarships for Local High School and College Students)
• Bijou Community School PTA (Project: Drumming Forward)
• LTCC Foundation (Project: “Outside the Box” After School Program)
To honor the recipients and all grant applicants, there will be a Grants Gala
on Wednesday, May 15 from 6:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Tahoe Beach Retreat. Tickets are available for $35.00 and can be purchased online at tahoewomenscommunityfund.org.
The community is invited to attend. Past grantees will be returning to share
how they spent the collective giving funds from 2018.
