Here is the Mountain Resort Report for April 19-21, 2019.

Happy Easter! Spring Conditions continue as Resorts head into Easter Weekend. Many Resorts will be closing after April 21… And, some will remain open thru May and others into July… It’s been a great snow year and we wish you a safe Spring Skiing Season!

WEATHER – Greater Lake Tahoe Area:

Friday: Partly cloudy. Highs 61 to 71. Light winds becoming southwest around 10 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows 37 to 47. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers in the afternoon. Snow level 8500 to 9000 feet. Highs 47 to 57. Southwest winds around 10 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the afternoon. Ridge gusts up to 55 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of showers in the evening. Lows 28 to 38. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the evening becoming light. Ridge gusts up to 55 mph in the evening.

Sunday: Partly cloudy. Highs 48 to 58. North winds 10 to 15 mph.

WHAT TO WEAR: Dress in light layers with your Jacket or Shell. Take light gloves and wear a Helmet for Safety. Also wear Sunglasses or Good Goggles (100% UV protection). Don’t forget to use sunscreen and stay hydrated at altitude!

SURFACE CONDITIONS: Surface Conditions are primarily Spring Conditions Machine Groomed and Skier-Rider Packed Snow – Firm in the morning and Softening with day time temps.

SAFETY MESSAGE: Stay on designated Opened Trails only. Respect all rope lines & area closures.Ski or Ride with a Buddy if you decide to go Off-Piste – Trees or opened trails. Keep an eye out for marked and unmarked obstacles. Stay away from Tree Wells… Slow Down and observe safety signs on trails with high concentration of skiers and riders… Know the Code! Always stay in control. Be able to avoid objects and people in your Path! Please stop to side of the run where it is safe and always check uphill for skiers and riders before restarting downhill.

A short period of LOW avalanche danger will exist while the snow remains supportable early this morning. The danger will quickly increase to MODERATE as loose wet avalancheproblems become possible due to warm temperatures, strong sunshine, and a weak overnight refreeze.

*HEAVENLY MOUNTAIN RESORT: Reports a mid- elevation base of 91”. 16 Lifts & Tows are scheduled to operate (9-4), Heavenly Gondola & 5 Lifts Above; California Base with 6 Lifts scheduled, including Gunbarrel, Canyon Express & Sky Express; And, 4 Lifts on the Nevada Side with Stagecoach, Olympic, Comet & Dipper. 93 Trails to open (50+MG).
