Two more deaths from COVID-19 in El Dorado County, cases continue upward trend

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - Since July 13 there have been 237 new cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County and two new deaths. If the State of California that would put the region in the red tier and close to the very restrictive purple tier in place in November, 2020.

Cases since July 13, 2021:

Pollock Pines, Camino, Kyburz - 559 cases - +14 - The 14-day new case rate is 17 with 125 per 100,000 residents.

El Dorado Hills - 2395 cases - +56 - The 14-day new case rate is 67 with 158 per 100,000 residents.
Diamond Springs, El Dorado - 498 cases - +9 - The 14-day new case rate is 14 with 149 per 100,000 residents.
North County - 521 cases - +5 - The 14-day new case rate is 9 with 62 per 100,000 residents.
Greater Placerville - 1973 cases - +59 - The 14-day new case rate is 76 with 208 per 100,000 residents.
Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue - 1891 cases - +37 - The 14-day new case rate is 48 with 136 per 100,000 residents.
South County - 136 cases - +2 - The 14-day new case rate is 2 with 19 per 100,000 residents.
Lake Tahoe region - 2791 cases - +51 - The 14-day new case rate is 57 with 188 per 100,000 residents.

The active case count is 505 - +145.

To date, 120 El Dorado County residents have died from COVID-19. There were two new deaths this week, both males from Greater Placerville, age 65+.

There are 14 hospitalized with 4 in the ICU. Of these patients, 10 are hospitalized at Marshall, 4 at Barton. Of the ICU patients, all four are in Barton, 0 at Marshall in Placerville. There are currently four available ICU beds in the county, two at Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe, two at Marshall.

In the Quad County Region this week:

Carson City Health and Human Services reports in its weekly update Thursday that there are three deaths, 99 new cases and 57 recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad County region from July 15 through July 21, 2021.

For the week, CCHHS is reporting 3 additional deaths due to COVID-19. The individuals were 2 Lyon County residents and a Carson City resident. CCHHS is also reporting 99 new cases and 57 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 13,331, with 12,872 recoveries and 233 deaths; 226 cases remain active.

Carson City had 1 death, 37 new cases, and 11 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Carson City is 5 new cases per day with a 7.7% test positivity rate.

Douglas County had 27 new cases and 14 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Douglas County is 3 new cases per day with a 6.2% test positivity rate.

Lyon County had 2 deaths, 35 new cases, and 30 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Lyon County is 4 new cases per day with a 10.2% test positivity rate.

Storey County had no new cases and 2 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Storey County is 0 new cases per day with a 0.0% test positivity rate.
