New executive director announced for Barton Foundation

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Chris Kiser has been announced as the new executive director for the Barton Foundation. He will be overseeing fundraising efforts to improve healthcare for the Lake Tahoe community through philanthropy.
There will be a community meet and greet for Kiser at Lake Tahoe Aleworx on Tuesday, August 27 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Kiser brings a breadth of experience in non-profit health care leadership and philanthropy development. Most recently, he was chief development officer of the Banner Health Foundation in Phoenix, Arizona. Kiser also served as president of the North Colorado Medical Center Foundation in Greeley, Colorado.
“Chris Kiser’s experience in healthcare philanthropy is an asset to the Barton Foundation and the community we serve,” said Dr. Clint Purvance, Barton Health President & CEO. “His leadership will play a key role in partnership development and fundraising to support Barton providing consistently exceptional care for residents and visitors of our area.”
The Barton Foundation invests donations from supporters into life-saving medical equipment and patient services available through Barton Health. The Foundation additionally gives $50,000 in annual community grants to local organizations to help address local health needs.
Kiser will facilitate the Foundation’s collaborative efforts with the Community Health Advisory Committee and report to a 21 member board of trustees. He will additionally manage the Foundation’s staff and volunteers to produce fundraising events including the Festival of Trees and Lights, December 6 – 8, 2019 and Pink Heavenly, March 21, 2020.
Mr. Kiser holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa, and a Master of Science degree from Western Illinois University. Mr. Kiser enjoys tennis, cycling, skiing and fly fishing. He and his wife, Cheri, have two college-age sons, Colin and Leo.
