Yes, there is a link between South Lake Tahoe and the new Sacramento Kings cowbell

Metal artist, and 1986 Douglas High graduate, Terrence Martin has made a name for himself in the world of public displays of unique art done in metal.

In 2015, Martin created the guitar that is on display outside of the Hard Rock Lake Tahoe. Thursday night, his latest creation was unveiled at the new Golden 1 Center, the new home of the Sacramento Kings.

Cowbells have been a tradition at Kings games and they symbolize the decades long pride of their fans. Now that old tradition is being carried into the new home with Martin's creation of a giant, three-foot big metal bell.

The bell will hang between the Kings' locker room and center court and will serve as a rallying cry for players and fans according to a tweet by the Kings at game time Thursday. Players will reach up and ring their own cowbell as they enter the arena, just as the fans are ringing their own bells.

Martin has created large works of art that can be seen throughout the state and beyond, including a metal fire pit with artistic metal logs up at Northstar.

He and the team at his business, The Jagged Edge, have appeared on DIY's House Crashers, Yard Core and Yard Crashers as well as Bath Crashers. He has signed a development deal with HGTV (House and Garden Television) for a TV show.

For now, those in South Lake Tahoe can enjoy his guitar, and listen for the ringing of the bell as the Sacramento Kings play.
