SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The week ahead at Lake Tahoe will be a dry and sunny one, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. High pressure building overhead will bring dry conditions, light winds, and valley inversions this week. NWS Reno says to expect above-average afternoon highs to persist through the upcoming week.
If Phil the groundhog was visiting Lake Tahoe on Monday, he would most likely see his shadow, but with a chilly and cloudy forecast in Punxsutawney, Philadelphia, spring could be just around the corner. Over the last 120 years, Phil has predicted a longer winter over 100 times.
The high pressure may weaken over Tahoe by next weekend, with precipitation chances returning by the second week of February, but NWS Reno says their confidence is low.
