SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Here are some reminders of what is happening on the South Shore this weekend:

Free Kids Expo on Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lake Tahoe Community College. It is hosted by Catalyst Community, the resource and referral agency serving El Dorado County since 1976. The Expo is a popular event formerly called Day of the Young Child. It is over 30 years old and started as a celebration of the Month of the Young Child.  There will be a wide variety of FREE creative activities while learning about community services, educational programs, businesses, and extra-curricular activities. Kids Expo is the ultimate free, outdoor family experience packed with fun, learning, and unforgettable moments for kids of all ages! From community resources, hands-on activities and performances, Kids Expo brings together everything children love in one vibrant, action-filled event.

It’s a day of discovery, laughter, and connection for the whole family. Come play, learn, explore, and make memories at Kids Expo, where big fun is made just for little people (and the grown-ups who love them!).

12th annual Wildfire Safety Expo on Saturday, May 30, at South Tahoe Middle School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is free and will feature kid-friendly activities and valuable information for everyone.

Spaghetti Night Fundraiser for the American Legion is on Saturday, May 30, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and dinner starting at 6 p.m. Help keep the doors open at the American Legion and support them. The cost is $15 for adults, $10 for kids, and those 3 and under are free. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and dessert. The Legion is located at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.

Besides the three special events, there are plenty of other things to do in South Lake Tahoe. The Lake Tahoe Historical Museum is open on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take the free tour and find out what helped form the Lake Tahoe area we know today. They are located at 3058 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe. Their summer schedule starts next week and they’ll be open Thurday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Check out their great bookstore too!

The Tallac Historic Site is also open for the season. Wander the historic grounds, take a Pope House tour, and step back into a bygone era on the shores of Lake Tahoe. For more information, visit https://taylortallac.org/.
