By John McDougall… Each year, the Pay It Forward Project grants scholarships to students who make a positive difference in our community and in our schools. This year, seven scholarships were awarded to deserving students in the South Lake Tahoe area

We wanted to congratulate the following students as this year’s recipients. South Tahoe High School: Sebastian Guerrero, Ava Calli, Diem Johnson, Gabriella Lancellotti, and Emiliano Guerrero.  This year’s scholarship recipients at Lake Tahoe Community College were Nathan Fox and  Delos Moore for their continuing education.

We would like to congratulate all these students and encourage them to continue to work hard in achieving their educational goals while also continuing to make a positive difference through volunteerism in their schools and communities. We hope that it will be a lifelong commitment!

The Pay it Forward Project, a fund of the El Dorado Community Foundation, encourages volunteerism in our schools and in our communities. We have scholarships available at South Tahoe High School and Lake Tahoe Community College for students with a background and commitment in volunteerism in their schools as well as in their community.  This is in addition to available scholarships in both Carson City and Douglas County schools.

We encourage community volunteerism and provide funds for community volunteer programs. We can all make a positive difference by just volunteering for a few hours each month and by doing so, meeting interesting like-minded people and building a better and stronger community.
