The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT) has announced it is hosting VanWood Tahoe, a new family-friendly event for 2026 that will raise funds for local youth. This campout will celebrate all the wonderful things that make Tahoe spring skiing and riding so fun! It will be held April 10-12, 2026.

“We are so excited to host VanWood in April to support our Tahoe youth,” said Aimi Xistra, director of development at the Club. “This event is a true partnership with Kirkwood Mountain and Epic Promise. There will be a robust events schedule with three days of on and off-mountain fun, with everything from Slush Pond skimming to a Saturday sunset shred session where Kirkwood will spin lifts until 6 p.m. We will also have live DJs and evening bands, karaoke pizza parties, morning yoga sessions, coffee chats, cornhole tournaments, meet and greet with the avalanche dogs, tailgate parties, s’mores pits, and just a true spring celebration vibe.”

VanWood camp sites are available for Kirkwood’s Red Cliff upper and main lots, come in a variety of sizes, and are VERY limited. Camping without a reservation will not be allowed. These campsites will be available at the Pray for Powder fundraiser on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Paddle House Brews, located at 3135 Harrison Ave. on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be add-on options, like the Mini-Tahoe Brewfest, once your spot is secured.

Campsites will remain available for purchase through January 4, 2026, by contacting Aimi Xistra at axistra@bgclt.org at which time they will post remaining sites (if any) on Eventbrite.

Youth participants receive academic support and engage in a variety of enriching and educational opportunities in the arts, STEM, sports and recreation, character and leadership development, and other areas that promote social, emotional, and physical wellbeing. BGCLT is the only after school program on Tahoe’s south shore that welcomes young people at every grade level from ages 4 to 18. Programs and activities operate in four locations, the Angel of Tahoe Clubhouse as well as three offsite locations, Bijou Community School, Magnet Elementary School and Tahoe Valley Elementary.
