SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Tahoe Association of REALTORS® (STAOR) thanks its members and the greater South Lake Tahoe community for participation in the 8th annual Wish Tree Project. With the help of dedicated volunteers from STAOR Young Professionals Network (STAR YPN) and generous sponsors from our membership and the community, we were able to deliver nearly 180 holiday gifts today to Executive Director Jude Wood at the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT), benefiting 79 children.

The annual Wish Tree project began as a way for our local association to partner with and support the BGCLT. Once upon a time, there was a “tag tree” with just a few names. It has grown into a larger project with a commitment to ensure every child on Boys & Girls Club’s Jude Wood’s list receives the two gifts they’re wishing for! Sponsors choose a child’s name and their wishes, and shop for gifts and bring them to our office, where the list is double-checked before everything is delivered to BGCLT in time for distribution to all of the children or their families before the school holiday break.

For some of these families, these could be the only gifts under the tree. Each year, we’re heartened to see how the community comes together to ensure that the children in these families don’t go without.

You helped 79 kids have a better holiday this year. We’re incredibly grateful that you chose to be holiday elves and helped make their wishes come true!
