CASA child advocate training in South Lake Tahoe

Event Date:
April 18, 2017 - 1:00pm

If you have three-to-five hours a week to help a child, then Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) needs you. Help guide a child through a complex system of social workers, foster parents, and lawyers, while building a consistent, caring, mentoring relationship.

CASAs child advocates are tasked with getting to know a particular child and their specific needs and then communicating those needs, and the child’s voice, to the court. This information is highly critical in the decision-making process of juvenile court proceedings.

Who Can Be a CASA Volunteer? You do not need to be a lawyer or social worker to be a volunteer. All people are welcome from all walks of life. You simply just have to care about children and have common sense.

The next session of training to be a child advocate begins on April 18.
