Nevada Rural Housing Authority names Guild Mortgage Loan Officer Jorge Montoya as Most Valuable Partner

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Rural Housing Authority (NRHA) has named Guild Mortgage Loan Officer Jorge Montoya as a “Most Valuable Partner.” Montoya has been instrumental in helping promote NRHA programs that are designed to make home ownership more attainable by making it more affordable for working Nevadans.

“Montoya is very passionate about his job,” said CJ Manthe, NRHA Chief Financial Officer. “He goes the extra mile to make sure he provides his clients with all the tools and resources they need to make buying a home affordable which is why he has been a big proponent of our programs.”

Montoya has reserved the most Mortgage Credit Certificates (MCC) so far this year. This program provides a dollar-for-dollar federal income tax credit equal to 20% or 50% of the interest paid on a mortgage loan that is given to the homebuyer every year they live in the home. The estimated annual savings for an average family in the program is $2,000 per year. Manthe said, “You can see where this would be a tremendous savings for home owners and make home ownership more affordable.”

Montoya has also been very involved in NRHA activities designed to educate real estate and lending professionals about the tools and resources available for home buyers. In addition to being licensed as a Nevada broker, Montoya is the President of the Washoe County chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals.

“I believe that in today's real estate market it's not enough to just get the job done, but go the extra 10% above and beyond,” said Montoya. “I believe the tools and resources provided by the NRHA put home ownership within reach for more people and that is why I promote and use them,” he added.

For nearly 40 years, the NRHA has improved the quality of life for tens of thousands of Nevadans by providing innovative home ownership programs, community development and rental assistance in rural Nevada. For more information on the NRHA or its programs, call 775-887-1795 or visit www.nvrural.org.
