South Tahoe High Drama Department presents "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"

The award-winning musical comedy, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. will be performed by the South Tahoe High School (STHS) Drama Department. This show has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor.

Shows will be at the STHS TADA Theatre on March 22, 23, 29 and 30 at 7 p.m., and March 24 and 30 at 2 p.m.

The musical is a fast-paced, wildly funny, and touching show that is relatable to both young and old. It features a cast of favorites and a wonderful live musical combo.

An eclectic group of six middle schoolers vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While doing so they disclose candid and heartfelt stories from their often-troubled home lives. The students spell their way through a series of words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing "ding" of the bell that signal a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter: one speller leaves a champion. At least the losers get a juice box! A fun-filled ride, complete with audience participation, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a delightful, comedic, fun-filled romp for actors and audience alike.

Directed by Ethan Niven, with music direction by Allyssa Little, choreography by Rhonda Keen, and stage managed by Ollie Suave. The cast includes Madeline Jones, Emma Zion, Maci Harden, Gilberto Aguirre, Mannix Behrendt, Neo Harness, Hannah Kelso, Preston Smith and Gloria Webb. the musicians include Ken Arnold, Joshua Ortega-Mora, Piper Tannaci, Yave Ramos-Amaral, Xai Hendricks, Anthony Zepeda, and Adaleigh Extrom.

This show is rated PG13. Tickets will be sold at the door an hour before the performance or for advance purchase, please follow the QR code on the poster. Adults: $15 and Students: (18 and under) $10.
