The Grand Opening Ceremony of the TJ Maxx store in South Lake Tahoe took place this morning at 8am as a crowd anxiously awaited outside.
Mayor Claire Fortier, Mayor Pro Tem Tom Davis, Councilmember’s Angela Swanson and Bruce Grego, Councilmember elect JoAnn Conner, and City Manager Nancy Kerry were all in attendance for the ceremony.

“It’s exciting that we have a full range of clothing options now by a nationally renowned retailer and we are very fortunate to have that here in or town,” said Mayor Fortier.

Live Violence Free was the recipient of a $5,000 donation on behalf of The TJX Foundation which focuses its charitable giving on programs that provide basic-need services to disadvantaged women, children and families in communities where they do business.

The TJ Maxx store is located at 2015 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, at the corner of the “Y” where Highways 50 and 89 intersect.
