Tahoe Bike Love rides launch in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Bike Tahoe, a nonprofit promoting bicycling in the region, has teamed up with Lake Tahoe AleWorX and BlueZone Sports of South Lake Tahoe to launch its first Tahoe Bike Love event – a weekly mountain bike ride for the public.
“We decided to team up and produce this ride series to meet the increasing requests by locals and visitors for a regularly scheduled ride they can count on,” said Bike Tahoe President Ty Polastri.
Bike Love outings are scheduled for Thursday evenings beginning August 1 at 5:30 p.m.

June 17, 2017 - 9:30am Volunteers can meet at one of three locations throughout South Tahoe to pick up litter from the areas around our bike paths. Then we’ll get together at the League to Save Lake Tahoe office for a free lunch and celebration. All ages are welcome and all supplies will be provided.
We encourage volunteers to ride their bike, which also makes you eligible to enter a free raffle for a chance to win prizes!

An online biking guide for cyclists of all abilities in the South Lake Tahoe, North Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Carson Valley and California Alps just been released. Bike Tahoe: Tahoe’s Ultimate Bicycling Guide, features 65 of the most popular bicycle rides in and around the Lake Tahoe Basin, and can be visited at www.BikeTahoe.org. This is a “responsive web site” meaning that it automatically resizes the content format to fit the screen size of the device being used (smart phone, tablet, laptop).
Expect surge of cyclists on South Lake Tahoe roads Sunday morning

The 12th Annual Tour de Tahoe – Bike Big Blue is being held on Sunday, September 6. The participating cyclists are taking off from the parking lot of MontBleu every 15 minutes between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and riding clockwise around Lake Tahoe back to MontBleu.
For people not wanting to ride all 72 miles there is a 35 mile Boat and Bike where participants ride the Tahoe Queen from the Ski Run Marina to the North Shore at 7:15 a.m. From there they will ride clockwise back to the South Shore.
