Revenues Increase But Major Nevada Casinos Lost $4 Billion In FY2011
Submitted by Editor on Fri, 01/06/2012 - 3:22pmCARSON CITY – Nevada’s major casinos saw total revenues increase to $22 billion last fiscal year, but the 256 properties reported a net loss of just under $4 billion, the Gaming Control Board reported today.
It was the third year of losses in a row. The only other loss since records have been kept came in 2002.
The report, called the Nevada Gaming Abstract, analyzes those casino properties grossing $1 million or more in gaming revenue for the year ending June 30, 2011.
Reward offered after dog found dead, home burglarized

EarthJustice, on behalf of the Sierra Club and Friends of the West Shore, lists both TRPA and Placer County as defendants in the lawsuit filed Thursday in U.S. District Court of Eastern California. Absent from the suit is the League to Save Lake Tahoe, which implied that it likely wouldn't sue when the project was unanimously approved last month by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency's Governing Board.

Mora Jr. was captured by Douglas County Investigator Investigator Nadine Chrzanowski after receiving an anonymous tip regarding his whereabouts.
Mora Jr. is currently in custody at the DCSO Minden Jail, booked on an arrest warrant for lewdness with a minor.
Bail is set at $50,000.
Chrzanowski expresses her appreciation for assistance received from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office in assisting in the arrest.

Moore, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Douglas authorities report 10 arrests in casino area

There were 10 arrests during the celebration and a DUI arrest outside the casino area, said DCSO Sgt. Jim Halsey.
Among the charges were disorderly conduct, trespassing, minor consuming alcohol, battery, domestic battery, battery on a peace officer and civil protective custody.

The accident happened between Lake Village and Elks Point Road and was reported at 12:44 a.m. Sunday morning, said NHP Trooper Chuck Allen. The driver of the pickup, Christopher Torii Smith, 25, of Grass Valley, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence causing death. Names of the deceased have not been released.
