Hike for the Lake Tahoe Humane Society & Action Adventure EXPO will offer hiking, lunch, a vaccination clinic, celebrities and adventure exposition.
This dog friendly event will be taking place in the back parking lot of Harrah's Tahoe on Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (reminder, all dogs must be on leashes)

This remarkable and exciting movie explores the history and geography of K2 the second highest and most difficult to climb mountain on the planet. Located in the heart of the Karakoram mountain range it is one big, bad mountain. One out of every four who make it to the summit does not return home.

Himmel Haus to start Haus Party Winter Music Series in the new year

Starting Friday, January 9, 2015, the Haus Party Winter Music Series will offer live music from all over California, Nevada and the Pacific Northwest every other Friday night.
This 21 and over music series will be held every other Friday night, January 9 – April 17, 2015 at Himmel Haus in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Doors will open at 9:00 pm with live music starting at 9:30 pm. There will be a $10 admission (FREE admission on your birthday) with affordable drink options to suit a ski bum budget including $4 Red Bull and Shochu and $4 premium ½ liter beers.
Early bird discounts now available for 2015 Home and Garden Show

Golden Bear Events presents the 2015 Annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show and is offering Early Bird discounts for booth space through January 1, 2015. The show will be held on Friday, April 24th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 25th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The cost of a 10 x 10 foot space is $145.00 total for both days until January 1, 2015. Regular price is $195.00.

Air show officials have decided to drop the $10 entrance fee and offer free admission to all attendees for the 25th Annual Lake in the Sky Air Show this Saturday, September 20th from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. at Tahoe Valley Airport in South Lake Tahoe.
Last year's air show was canceled due to heavy smoke from the Rim Fire. Officials are monitoring the King Fire's smoke and movement, but at this time there are no flight closures and the aerial performances and all on ground activities are still going to occur.

South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic brings ‘Freedom of the Forties’ to the Tahoe Keys Marina this year on July 25 and 26.
This year's theme is ‘Freedom of the Forties’ which honors U.S. military and pays homage to antique and classic boats of the forties. World War II veterans are provided free admission to the event, and U.S. military receive discounts on event admission.

The 25th Annual American Century Golf Championship which is played at South Lake Tahoe's Edgewood Tahoe is just 3 months away! This year's event takes place July 15 through July 20.
Discounted season pass tickets are now available for $50 which makes the daily ticket price just $8.33. The Lake Tahoe tournament is the No. 1 celebrity golf event in the country.
The American Century Championship is offering the specially priced Season Pass through May 31; beginning June 1 it’s $60.

A Community Carnival will be help on Saturday, September 14 at the Recreation Center from 10 am to 4 pm. There will be live music, a pirate race, a cake walk, rocket launch, limbo contest and more. The carnival is hosted by Gerri Grego, a candidate for El Dorado County Supervisor.
Free admission, tickets for games are .75 each.
Lake Tahoe pilot bus service to run from Incline Village to Sand Harbor

A collaboration of the Tahoe Transportation District, the Nevada Division of State Parks, Nevada Department of Transportation, Nevada Highway Patrol and Washoe County School District will inaugurate the East Shore Express, a pilot Park and Ride bus service beginning June 15 through Sept. 3, 2012.

New storm to arrive on Sunday; ski resorts prepare for brisk business

Ski resorts report up to 2 feet of snow from the system which arrived Friday and continues today. The National Weather Service in Reno reports that a second and much colder storm will move into the area on Sunday into Monday, dropping temperatures and bringing more snow. Haunted trails await at Campground by the Lake

Hosted by the City of South Lake Tahoe Community Services/Parks and Recreation, and the South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, organizers have prepared a haunted trail in the woods at the Campground by the Lake on Highway 50, dead in the center of South Lake Tahoe.
Two Tahoe museums recognize Smithsonian Museum Day
