Poets are next presenters at LTCC Writer's Series

Lake Tahoe Community College’s Writers’ Series continues on Friday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Roberta Mason Library with visits from poet and journalist Ilyse Kusnetz, and teacher, farmer, and poet Julia Shipley.

The two writers will read selections from their works, answer audience questions about their writing process, and sign copies of their books for sale that night. This event is free and the public is welcome to attend!

Lake Tahoe Community College hosts award-winning poets

The Lake Tahoe Community College Writers’ Series proudly presents an evening of poetry with Robert Krut and Patricia Smith on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in the LTCC Library. The poets will read, engage the audience in a Q & A and sign books. This free event is open to the community and books will be available for purchase.

Robert Krut’s “This Is the Ocean” is the recipient of the 2012 Melissa Lanitis Gregory Poetry Prize, offered annually by local publisher Bona Fide Books in honor of the Lake Tahoe artist who died in 2009.

Bona Fide Award Winner to Read at LTCC Writers’ Series Oct. 11

On Oct. 11 at 7 pm Bona Fide Books will launch poet Robert Krut’s award-winning collection “This Is the Ocean” with a reading and book signing as part of the Lake Tahoe Community College’s Writers’ Series. The event is free and open to the public.

LTCC Writers’ Series celebrates National Poetry Month with three award-winning poets

The Lake Tahoe Community College Writers’ Series will proudly celebrate National Poetry Month on Friday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the LTCC Library.
Three award-winning poets — Kelle Groom, Lexa Hillyer, and Krista Lukas — will read from their works, engage the audience with a Q and A, and sign books. The event is free and open to the community. Books will be available for purchase.

Award-winning Brooklyn Poet Book Launch at LTCC Nov. 2

On Nov. 2 at 7 pm Bona Fide Books will launch Brooklyn poet Lexa Hillyer’s award-winning collection “Acquainted with the Cold” at a reading at the Lake Tahoe Community College’s Writers’ Series. The event is free and open to the public.

“Acquainted with the Cold” is Hillyer’s first collection, and it won Bona Fide’s 2011 Melissa Lanitis Gregory Poetry Prize, offered annually in honor of the local artist who died in 2009. The book is concerned with the intersection of nature and city, and takes the reader on an invigorating ode to the seasons.
