Ruth Coleman, California parks director, resigns following scandal
Submitted by Editor on Fri, 07/20/2012 - 1:49pmSACRAMENTO — The director of California's state parks system resigned Friday after officials discovered that her department had $54 million in unspent money in its accounts that it had not reported to the state finance department.
Ruth Coleman, who had led the agency since 2003, stepped down, and the department's second-in-command, Acting Deputy Director Michael Harris, was fired.
California Resources Secretary John Laird planned a 1 p.m. news conference to address the issue and issued a statement saying the state Attorney General's Office would be investigating.

Nevada Taxable Sales Sees Modest But Solid Gain In April

The $3.5 billion in taxable purchases in April were buoyed by double-digit gains in several major categories, including construction; up 16.1 percent, merchant wholesalers-durable goods, up 10.2 percent; and motor vehicle and parts dealers, up 10.5 percent.

May 11, 2012 (All day) Had a brain fart last month and couldn’t think of anything worthwhile to say. Guess I will have a little catching up to do this month as the ski season is over and I am bored out of my mind as well as pissed I have to go back to work.
Wow, what a closing we had on The Face for the last day at Heavenly. Pete Sonntag and Todd Rudis opened The Face from noon till 4:15 and we got our last jolly’s in before the annual parking lot party which by the way was one of the biggest I have seen in a long time.
