A look at the South Lake Tahoe Police Department

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Law enforcement has come a long way in South Lake Tahoe since the first police department started on July 1, 1967. At that time there were 30 sworn male officers who were chosen from a list of more than 400 applicants who wanted to be part of the first police department for the new city. They were tested in Seal Beach, Roseville, and South Lake Tahoe then interviewed in Los Angeles and Sacramento.

Thursday morning, woodshop teacher, Nathan Crnich was arrested at the STHS campus on sexual misconduct charges. While news was shocking to many, students said they feel safer.

South Lake Tahoe City Council votes to cap VHRs at 1,400

"We need the community to get together and collaborate," said SLT Councilman Jason Collin during Tuesday's Council meeting. "Its polarized the community."

Collin was discussing the South Lake Tahoe Vacation Home Rental Ordinance after another full day of a City Council meeting focused on the subject of vacation homes in the community.

Lake Valley Fire promotes and hires seven, welcomes Chief Alameda

It wasn't your normal badge ceremony and pinning at Lake Valley Fire District firehouse in Meyers, a celebration of a new hire or new promotion. This time, it was historic, a ceremony that saw not only new new hires, but the promotion at all ranks in the department, including a new Fire Chief.

Trish Kirsch Joins the Stanford Mortgage Team

Trish Kirsch is the latest addition to the Stanford Mortgage team in Reno. Trish brings several accolades with her, such as President’s Club, Platinum Club and Million Dollar Producer’s Club recognition. She is specialized in Super-Jumbo and Construction Loans and has a “whatever-it-takes” attitude when closing deals for clients. She believes in honesty without compromise and Stanford Mortgage expects great things from Trish in the future.
