Dr. Stephen Bannar’s memorial service set for Wednesday

Memorial services for Dr. Stephen Banner, a popular South Lake Tahoe orthopedist who died on December 13, 2018, have been set.
On Tuesday, December 18 there will be a viewing at McFarlane Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Then, on Wednesday, December 19, a funeral service will be held at Saint Theresa’s Parish at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Happy Homestead at 11:15 a.m. There will be a reception following the burial at Grace Hall.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Many in the community were just getting their day underway on Thursday when they heard of the passing of Dr. Stephen Bannar, a respected orthopedist whose talent was known beyond the borders of our country.

Former South Lake Tahoe orthopaedic surgeon and U.S. Ski Team doctor, J. Richard Steadman, MD, will be inducted into the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine’s (AOSSM) Hall of Fame on Friday, July 10th, during the Society’s Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. AOSSM Hall of Famers are individuals in the sports medicine community who have contributed immensely and set themselves apart from others in the field.
