Return to more normal July temperatures this week in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - South Lake Tahoe tied the record high for Sunday when the mercury topped 91. We`ll return to near-normal July warmth the week ahead with enhanced afternoon breezes through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. This will bring localized areas with critical fire weather conditions in addition to choppy lakes, especially on Monday.

There is a chance for thunderstorms and rain south of Lake Tahoe in Mono County to start off the week, but no precipitation is expected at Lake Tahoe.

The South Lake Tahoe forecast from NWS Reno:

Monday - Increasing clouds, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Monday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. South wind 5 to 15 mph.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 84. Light south wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 48. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 48.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 81.

Thursday Night - Clear, with a low of around 44.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 82.

Friday Night - Clear, with a low of around 43.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 81.
