South Lake Tahoe Friends of Library ask for donations as it prepares for March book sale

The Friends of the Library are currently accepting donations of books and audio/visual materials (DVD & books on Tape/CD only please) for the upcoming book sale. We would greatly appreciate materials only in good condition and with a copyright date no earlier than 2000.

Especially needed are recent children’s books and children’s DVDs, as well as recent materials in Spanish. All donations are tax deductible, with receipts available from the front desk. All proceeds from the book sale go to Friends of the Library, and help to support various library programs and events for children and adults.

The Friends of the Library will be holding their annual Spring Book Sale on Saturday, March 16th from 10 am to 3 pm. This year they have an exciting special offering: the thirty-three book set of the Complete Works of Charles Dickens, including his private letters. This beautiful Red Edition was published in 1895 and is in excellent condition. Similar sets are selling on ebay for an excess of $1000, but it can be yours for $350! This is a fantastic opportunity for book collectors and Dickens fans!

In addition, the Book Sale boasts a large selection of material to choose from. Hardcover & paperback, DVDs, VHS, audio books, and children’s books will also be available at bargain prices.. The book sale is a great way to stock up on your reading materials while helping support your local library. Come early for the best selection.

All members of Friends of the Library are invited to a preview of the book sale, from 9 - 10 am. New members are welcome, and you may sign up at the door. All Friends members attending the preview will be entered into a drawing for raffle prizes. For additional information, call 573-3185
 
The Friends of the Library support the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library in a variety of ways, sponsoring free programs for children, teens and adults. Donations from the Friends of the Library also go towards the purchasing of new books, DVDs and CDs for the Library.

The South Lake Tahoe Branch Library is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am to 8pm, and Thursday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm. For more information on library services, please call 530-573-3185 during regular business hours.
