'Tahoe Blues' Book Launch at LTCC June 8

Event Date:
June 8, 2012 - 7:00pm

On Fri. June 8, Bona Fide Books will host a book launch and reading for “Tahoe Blues: Short Lit on Life at the Lake” at Lake Tahoe Community College, 7:00 p.m. The event is part of the LTCC Writers’ Series and is free and open to the public.

“Tahoe Blues” is a collection of flash fiction and microessays by 56 local writers and others who love the lake. Topics range from the environment to ghost stories, even futuristic pieces, and, of course, bears. “There is something for everyone. That’s the beauty of an anthology,” says Bona Fide Books publisher Kim Wyatt, who edited the one-of-a-kind collection. The book is organized by shades of blue, indicating depth, theme and other intangibles, says Wyatt, who received hundreds of submissions.

The inaugural Tahoe Blues reading will be held at LTCC’s Ledbetter Terrace, and will feature several LTCC alumni whose work appears in the collection. Other events are planned throughout the summer around the basin and in Reno, Truckee and Placerville. The book will also be available in several local outlets around town.
