Auditions for Missoula Children's Theater production of Aladdin

Tahoe Arts Project will be bringing the Missoula Children’s Theater back to Tahoe the week of July 6-10. Auditions will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) production of Aladdin on Monday July 6 at the South Tahoe Middle School Multi-Purpose room from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Those auditioning should arrive at 10:00 a.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

Among the roles to be cast include Aladdin and his Mother; the Princess Dory and her father, the Sultan; along with his adviser the Grand Vizier; the keeper of the Book of Answers; Dinazade and her sister Scheherazade; the Mysterious One; some mischievous Genies; a stubborn Donkey; a spunky Goat; scheming Cassim; Ali Baba; Sinbad and his Sailors; wise-cracking Palm Trees and fleet footed Camels; a Cave of Wonders; Vagabonds; and a pack of lost Penguins. All students, entering 1st grade through 12th grade are encouraged to audition. Must be five and have completed Kindergarten to participate. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production. Auditions are free and if cast there will be a fee of $50 per child to participate in this week long theater program.

The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 10:00 to 2:30 each day.

Aladdin will be presented on Friday, July 10 at South Tahoe Middle School Multi-Purpose Room at 3:00 and 6:00. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children and seniors.
