Coldwell Banker Select to Contribute to Barton Festival of Trees and Lights

The Barton Foundation has been a cornerstone for The Barton Health Group for more than 20 years by providing excellent healthcare service to customers and also have been big players during the holiday season. This year’s Barton Festival of Trees and Lights will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Barton Health and Coldwell Banker Select will be contributing to the event in a major way. The franchise will be donating a gorgeous “sports themed” Christmas tree to the event, which will be auctioned off at the black tie gala event on December 7th.

Called one of America's favorite Christmas stories, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a funny, memorable, and outrageous family play. In this Christmas tale, Mrs. Bradley, struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant, is faced with casting the Herdman kids- probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won't believe the mayhem- and the fun- when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on! A cast of over 20 local kids ages 7 to 13 help bring the show to life.

Barton Foundation Signature Cocktail Contest returns Sept. 12, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Riva Grill.
This year, the Barton Health Festival of Trees and Lights annual Signature Cocktail Contest will feature unique and tasty drinks created by bartenders from Chart House, Heavenly, Kalani’s, LewMarNel’s, MontBleu, Naked Fish and Riva Grill.

Barton Foundation would like to thank the many volunteers and sponsors that helped to make the 7th annual Camp Sunrise, held in June, once-again a huge success. Camp Sunrise is a free bereavement camp offered to children ages 7 through 14 who have experienced the death of a family member. The three-day camp provides grief education and support in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

Barton Foundation golf tournament raises more than $14,000 for Community Health Endowment

Barton Foundation's 19th annual Golf Tournament and fundraiser held on Thursday, June 20 at the Lake Tahoe Golf Course raised more than $14,000 for Barton’s Community Health Endowment fund. The Hawaiian themed, “Tiki Tee Off and Lei Up Luau Golf Tournament hosted a field of 108 golfers and 160 luau attendees – complete with a roasted pig, raffle prizes and a performance by the Ukuleles of Tahoe.

South Lake Tahoe 'Light up a Life' interfaith ceremony celebrates loss of loved ones

The ceremony provides all to reflect and community members the chance to share and pay tribute to the memory of those lost who remain close.

Festival of Trees and Lights begins Thursday

Barton Foundation’s fourth annual Festival of Trees and Lights will begin this Thursday, Nov. 29 and run through Sunday, Dec. 2 at Montbleu Resort Casino and Spa, Convention Center.

Throughout the last three-years, Barton Foundation has dedicated funds raised from The Festival to Barton Health’s Community Clinic expansion and renovation. A Level III trauma center, located in Barton Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department (E.D.), is this year’s fundraising initiative.

After careful evaluation of 19 grant applications, nine-non-profits recently received $24,000 in grants from the CAC. Lake Tahoe South Non-Profits to see $65,000 from American Century Championship

The American Century Championship will distribute $65,000 to Lake Tahoe South area charities, officials announced Monday.
The Lance Armstrong Foundation, the celebrity golf tournament’s nationally designated charity, in partnership with the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, NBC Sports and American Century Investments, will provide funds to area non-profit organizations for specific needs to help make a difference in the community.

Winter was once-again the theme at the third annual Barton Foundation “Signature” Cocktail Contest on Thursday, September 13 at Riva Grill in South Lake Tahoe. The contest drew 177 attendees and grossed $5,900.30 for Barton Memorial Hospital’s Level III trauma center designation. Serving as the official “kick-off” of the four-day Festival of Trees & Lights to be held Thursday, November 29 through December 2 at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa, the contest included mixologists [bartenders] from 10 restaurants around South Lake Tahoe.

Barton Foundation’s annual Camp Sunrise, a bereavement camp designed for children ages 7 through 14, will be held June 17-19 at the Galilee Camp & Conference Center in Glenbrook, Nevada. The camp is founded on the understanding that every child deserves the opportunity to grieve in a safe, supportive and understanding environment. Barton Health grant applications open

In an effort to impact the health of our community the Barton Foundation recently opened their grant opportunities for programs and organizations benefitting the South Lake Tahoe area. Barton Health Grants provide funding for programs targeted at underserved populations and/or providing great impact to the health status of the community. The total grant amount available for 2012 is set at $25,000 and is generally dispersed between five and 10 local organizations.

The holiday arrived early for 27 South Lake Tahoe non-profit organizations Thursday, Dec. 8, as $100,000 in charitable contributions was distributed on behalf of LIVESTRONG® and the American Century Championship by the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority.

“We’re fortunate to have the support from LIVESTRONG, NBC Sports and American Century Investments to assist to the local community,” said Carol Chaplin, executive director of the LTVA in a news release. “In addition to an outstanding event which attracts visitors, our 22-year partnership also helps local groups in need.”
