Called one of America's favorite Christmas stories, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is a funny, memorable, and outrageous family play. In this Christmas tale, Mrs. Bradley, struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant, is faced with casting the Herdman kids- probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won't believe the mayhem- and the fun- when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on! A cast of over 20 local kids ages 7 to 13 help bring the show to life.

Barton Foundation would like to thank the many volunteers and sponsors that helped to make the 7th annual Camp Sunrise, held in June, once-again a huge success. Camp Sunrise is a free bereavement camp offered to children ages 7 through 14 who have experienced the death of a family member. The three-day camp provides grief education and support in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

Barton Foundation is bringing Hawaii to Lake Tahoe on Thursday, June 20 for a great cause – Barton Foundation’s Community Health Endowment. The Endowment which supports the future health of the Lake Tahoe region and beyond through equipment purchases, renovations and expansions for Barton Health.

Part three of four in an Informational series on planning and providing in-home care for yourself or a loved one presented by Barton Home Health Hospice will be on Monday, April 15, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Barton Memorial Hospital, in the Board Room, 2170 South Ave. South Lake Tahoe.

Barton Foundation’s fourth annual Festival of Trees and Lights will begin this Thursday, Nov. 29 and run through Sunday, Dec. 2 at Montbleu Resort Casino and Spa, Convention Center.

Throughout the last three-years, Barton Foundation has dedicated funds raised from The Festival to Barton Health’s Community Clinic expansion and renovation. A Level III trauma center, located in Barton Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department (E.D.), is this year’s fundraising initiative.

“Empowerment” is the premise of Barton Health's Community Advisory Committee (CAC). After careful evaluation of 19 grant applications, nine-non-profits recently received $24,000 in grants from the CAC. Through these grants, the CAC is able to “empower” area community programs with funding to help close the health gaps and address health issues within the community.

Mixologists, also known as bartenders, will create delicious winter cocktail concoctions, while adding their own enticing flare during the third annual Barton Foundation “Signature” Cocktail Contest, Thursday, Sept. 13 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Riva Grill.
The contest, sponsored by Riva Grill and Tahoe Blue Vodka, is the official “kick off” to the annual Festival of Trees & Lights, held November 29 – December 2, at Montbleu Resort Casino & Spa.

Volunteers are key to the success of Camp Sunrise, a free bereavement camp for children, and are needed for the camp June 17-19. The Barton Foundation’s annual Camp Sunrise will be held at Galilee Camp & Conference Center in Glenbrook, Nevada.

Camp Sunrise is founded on the understanding that every child deserves the opportunity to grieve in a safe, supportive and understanding environment. This free camp is funded by the Barton Foundation and is a program of Barton Hospice.

The Force is strong at Sierra for Younglings and Padawans this winter in Yoda's Riglet Park at Wild Moutain Children's Center. The Burton Star Wars Experience uses the beloved intergalactic saga to help children ages 3-6 make their first snowboard turns using Burton's innovative Riglet Reel Technology.

The holiday arrived early for 27 South Lake Tahoe non-profit organizations Thursday, Dec. 8, as $100,000 in charitable contributions was distributed on behalf of LIVESTRONG® and the American Century Championship by the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority.

The annual “Tree of Remembrance” Interfaith Ceremony hosted by Barton Hospice and Foundation will be Wednesday evening, December 7, from 5:30pm - 6:30pm at the Lake Tahoe Community Presbyterian Church in South Lake Tahoe. This event gives attendees the opportunity to reflect on the memories they share and celebrate the lives of those they have lost. Barton Hospice encourages everyone to take this opportunity to honor those they will forever cherish.

As a fundraiser supporting the good works of Barton Health the event is also a wonderful way for volunteers and attendees alike to give back during the holiday season.
