Tahoe License Plate for Powder Program To Benefit from Snow Forecast

Drivers who purchase a California or Nevada Tahoe vehicle license plate will receive two free ski lift or Nordic tickets to the resort of their choice. New Tahoe plates cost $50 in California and $61 in Nevada.

Over the next 10 years the CEO will be responsible for raising and distributing $50 million to restore and enhance the Lake, including work on bike trails, restoration projects, interpretive programs, public parks and related projects. Founded in 2010, Tahoe Fund raises private money to supplement the limited public funding available for such efforts.

As part of Measure R, passed last month to provide funding for both ballfields and bike trails in the community, committees to advise the JPA on the their needs and various relevant issues must be formed. The committees will consist of seven members each.

Rahlves and Jones donated their time for the California and Nevada Lake Tahoe specialty license plates program, which gives new Tahoe license plate buyers two free Alpine or Nordic ski tickets to their choice of 12 major Lake Tahoe-area ski resorts.

The Tahoe Resource Conservation District has released a series of educational posters which identify some of the biggest threats to Lake Tahoe Basin, as well as what visitors, residents and even kids can do to help. Voters approve Measure R, two new STPUD board members

California is expected to see a boost in its local mountain economies as a result of a new legislation that now permits year-long recreation opportunities on U.S. Forest Service ski areas. The Ski Area Recreational Opportunity Enhancement Act of 2011, which was signed by President Barack Obama on Nov. 7, is estimated to create and annually sustain up to 600 extra jobs nationwide.

Settlement reached in Tahoe pier dispute
