South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue incidents

The following are incidents the South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue department responded to from March 17 to April 13, 2016.

3/17 - 11 calls: 5 EMS, 1 interfacility psych transfer, 1 building fire, 1 wildland fire, 1 call to assist invalid, 2 canceled en route.

3/18 - 6 calls: 2 EMS, 1 system malfunction, 1 excessive heat and scorch burns with no fire, 1 assist invalid, 1 canceled en route.

3/19 - 13 calls: 9 EMS, 1 canceled en route, 1 false alarm, 1 smoke detector malfunction, 1 invalid assist.

Prescribed burns to continue around Lake Tahoe Basin

North Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Douglas fire protection districts and the U.S. Forest Service will continue prescribed fire operations over the next few weeks in various locations around the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Depending on daily weather forecasts, operations are planned in the following areas:

East Side of Second Creek Drainage - 3 acres
East Side of Third Creek Drainage - 10 acres
Douglas County - Zephyr Cove Park near Warrior Way - 8 acres
Hwy 89/ Grass Lake Rd - 122 acres
Meeks Bay/Meeks Meadow - 285 acres
