Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe to Give $28,000 to Local Nonprofits

Rather than funding many smaller projects as in the past, this year Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe Foundation, Inc. (SISLT) will distribute $28,000 to a maximum of five local nonprofit organizations. The goal of this new approach is to encourage applicants to think big and create increasingly impactful programs for the community.

The first of its kind Lake Tahoe Taco Eat-Off Challenge at MontBleu Resort, Casino and Spa was won Saturday by Erik Irwin from Kings Beach.  He ate 14 tacos in 10 minutes to take home $1,000 in cash.  That's nearly three pounds of food!
