Tahoe Valley school locked down briefly; distraught man inside home with gun surrenders to police
Submitted by Editor on Tue, 03/13/2012 - 11:08amTahoe Valley Elementary School was briefly locked down at around 10:30 a.m. after a report of a distraught man with a gun inside a home in the 800 block of Tahoe Island Drive.
The man walked out of a home, speaking on a phone, and was detained by South Lake Tahoe police and El Dorado County sheriff's deputies. According to police scanner traffic, Tahoe Valley school was locked down, briefly, as authorities circled the perimeter of the home, cutting off traffic in the area.

The arrests were made on March 2.
