Former South Lake Tahoe pot club owner pleads guilty to federal trafficking charges
Submitted by Editor on Wed, 01/09/2013 - 12:07pmGennaro "Gino" DiMatteo, 43, of South Lake Tahoe, pled guilty Wednesday to count two of the indictment, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced. DiMatteo is scheduled to be sentenced in April.
This case is the product of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department, and the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Jason Hitt is prosecuting the case.

South Lake Tahoe threatens to shut down last pot shop

Tahoe Wellness Center Director Cody Bass says they have already been trying to fix the smell - the shop's has plans for construction in the works. In addition to changing the building layout, they'll also add new air flow controls. Tahoe Wellness Center has 10 days to appeal a letter of complaint sent by the city.

A judge gave Gino DiMatteo clearance Wednesday to post $100,000 after proof was presented the money will not come from illegal activities.
Prosecutors were also supposed to publicly present basic evidence for the first time Wednesday on the charges against DiMatteo, but the defense team asked that portion of the hearing be pushed back so they have more time to prepare an argument.

What was supposed to be a routine re-vote to remedy an improperly -worded resolution turned into a reversal of an earlier decision during Tuesday’s South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting. The council was scheduled to vote again on a resolution to allow City of Angels 2 medical marijuana dispensary to relocate to a building on Lake Tahoe Boulevard, a move the council voted 4-1 to approve at its meeting on June 5.

Loop road poop road, you do realize that the state is going to do what they want, how they want and when they want with concerns to the Loop road. This is probably the best chance we have to get out of our financial obligation with regards to pensions, healthcare, unsound financial decisions, raising taxes, giving away the keys to the city to every con artist around and quite possibly the clap.
