Forest Service prepares Lake Tahoe spring recreation openings

The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit will soon begin the annual process of opening recreational facilities around the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Grant supports Lake Tahoe 'Children’s Forest' at Pope-Baldwin

A grant to the U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit will help develop a “Children’s Forest” for exploration and education in the Pope-Baldwin Recreation Area, off Highway 89 near South Lake Tahoe.

Mountain Milers Donate $7,050 to Tahoe Heritage Foundation

The Tahoe Heritage Foundation recently received a donation of $7,050 from the Tahoe Mountain Milers. The running club raised the money during the 2011 Kokanee Salmon Run. These funds will be used to support next year's Kokanee Salmon Festival and the college internship summer program at Taylor Creek Visitor Center.

Kokanee Salmon Festival continues today
