Tahoe's only canine physical therapist joins integrative veterinarian

STATELINE, Nev. - Local integrative veterinarian, Carrie Turner of Heal on Kingsbury Grade in Stateline, is offering pet owners even more options for integrative veterinary care. Jenny Jones, physical therapist and certified canine rehabilitation therapist has partnered with Heal to provide more healing options for Lake Tahoe’s dogs and cats.

Dr. Jones is a physical therapist with 15 years’ experience in pediatrics and small animal physical rehabilitation. She is relocating to Lake Tahoe from the Bay Area where she worked in a busy veterinary referral center. She has extensive experience with small animals and utilizes innovative skills including kinesiology taping, manual therapy, bracing/assistive devices/carts, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy and neurological rehab. Lake Tahoe’s active two-leg and four-leg community will benefit from Jenny’s depth of experience to keep pet’s keeping up with you.

Dr. Turner will continue to provide acupuncture, nutrition therapy, tui-na, herbal medicine, integrative cancer care and hospice care for dogs and cats. She has a special interest in integrative palliative care of chronic disease, internal medicine, and cancer. Her focus is to maintain quality of life. “I am very excited to collaborate with Jenny so we can help any pets who can benefit from a physical rehabilitation expert and an integrative veterinarian working together – that’s most pets.”

Integrative medicine is at the forefront of human and veterinary medicine. Pets get the best of both worlds by combining approaches such as conventional diagnostics with holistic treatment options like acupuncture, nutrition, herbal medicine, and physical rehabilitation. The well-being of the whole patient is considered with non-invasive treatments and few side effects.

Dr. Turner is veterinarian with 16 years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery. She is the owner of Heal Integrative Veterinary Medicine, certified in Veterinary Acupuncture through the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist. She and Dr. Jones are one of a handful of animal integrative and rehabilitative practitioners in this region, and the only ones in Tahoe’s South Shore.
