SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) Board of Education will hold a Special Board Meeting on Friday, January 24 at 10:00 a.m.
The open session meeting is a workshop for the trustees and will be facilitated by Cummings & Associates (CAAC), the consulting firm they approved to conduct a holistic analysis of the district’s organizational health. The group is not charging for their services and were recommended by Leadership Associates, the executive search firm being used by LTUSD for their superintendent search.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Timing seems perfect to have a fleet of electric buses for the Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD), but trustees have the purchase of just one on their Friday night agenda along with the purchase of four diesel buses.
The Board's annual organizational meeting is set for December 13 at 5:00 p.m. instead of their normal Tuesday meeting. During the meeting, they will elect a new board president and clerk, and elect representatives to El Dorado County School Boards Association and Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation, and assign annual duties for the trustees.

Up until only a few decades ago, for as long as humans have existed, parenting has been guesswork. New parents would get information and guidance from their elders or peers based on anecdotal evidence. We are lucky enough to live in an exciting time where we have research to find evidence for what parenting strategies and qualities lead to the most successful outcomes for children. Of course, there is not one cookie cutter way for each child, and being flexible in learning what works best for your child is essential.

One of the questions people ask the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency each year is why they have to pay mitigation fees for their development, like new homes and remodeling projects.

After a popular, and sold out, inaugural event in 2016, TEDx South Lake Tahoe is coming back and promises to be bigger and better.
The TEDx license only allowed 100 attendees at The Loft during its first year, but after a trip the New York and a TEDx main event, local organizers were able to qualify South Lake Tahoe for a larger audience in 2017.

A passionate crowd of about 90 people attended the first of at least two public meetings on the future of the Theatre Arts program at Lake Tahoe Community College Tuesday evening.
The one thing everyone could agree on is the importance of having live theatre in South Lake Tahoe, but how that theatre and the program supporting it will look in the future is uncertain. Will it be a community based theatre, or will it continue to be a college run program?
Property owners fighting weeds in the Tahoe Keys

In an effort to prevent the growth and spread of invasive weeds in the Tahoe Keys, residents are being proactive in the fight to keep their lagoons clean. The Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association (TKPOA) has submitted an updated Integrated Management Plan to the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board for approval.
TKPOA's plan is an adaptive, holistic one to greatly reduce aquatic invasive weeds in its lagoons.

City seeks proposals for socio-economic study about vacation rentals

Nevada is suffering from a debilitating drought, experiencing the impacts of a warming climate and, some say, is deficient when it comes to long-term water planning for the state as a whole.
