Tahoe Chamber looking for ambassadors for the new year

The bi-state Tahoe Chamber is reaching to their membership and offering them the opportunity to develop new business relationships through its Ambassador Program. Applications for the 2016 Chamber Ambassador Program are currently being accepted through January 15.

Ambassadors are a group of professionals that assist and interact with other chamber members on a variety of levels. There are now over 650 members in the organization.

"Joining the Ambassador Program is a great opportunity for those looking to develop business relationships and become more engaged in the South Shore community," according to the Chamber in a press release Monday.

“I became an Ambassador because I knew it would be a great way to meet people and become more involved in the business community,” says Tahoe Chamber Ambassador Jody Taylor of Radix Mortgage. “It has also helped my company and my business better known in Tahoe.”

Ambassadors interact with South Shore business owners to learn about what topics and issues are impacting their businesses. They also serve as liaisons for chamber members and encourage member to member interactions and relationship building.

Ambassadors are present at all chamber functions including ribbon cuttings, mixers, Member Meet-up Lunches and signature events such as the upcoming April 1 Business EXPO at Harvey's.

“Personally I was able to go to mixers and other functions with more of a purpose and it allowed me to meet several members of the community that I call good friends today,” says former Ambassador and current Tahoe Chamber board member Todd Poth of Getaway Magazine. “Professionally, it allowed me to make more contacts with other chamber members than I ever would have thought possible. It was also one of the first steps that allowed me to understand the inner workings and value of chamber membership and how to truly use the resources the chamber provides the business community.”

Ambassadors are asked to commit to attending a minimal number of events throughout the year in addition to developing relationships with a few members for the year of 2016. Applications to become an ambassador will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on January 15. To apply go to www.tahoechamber.org or contact Membership Services Director Justin Sinner for more details.
