Warmer temperatures in the Sierra as a few systems make their way to Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The storm door will keep opening, but the big storms aren't making it down to lake level, yet. This week we'll see warmer temperatures, with a break from any system through Tuesday before a series of systems will start heading to Lake Tahoe.

A quick system comes late Tuesday into Wednesday brings valley rain and mountain snow, gusty ridges, and Sierra travel impacts possible.

After we get a small break Thursday and Friday, confidence is increasing in a series of modest storms beginning Friday night. These storms look to be milder than our most recent events with periods of Sierra snow and gusty winds through the weekend into early next week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.
