Placer County Sheriff's Office responding to shooting on West Shore of Lake Tahoe

TUESDAY UPDATE: The Placer County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) investigations unit has identified 26-year-old Luis Sanchez-Cabada as a person of interest in the shooting that occurred on Monday in Homewood on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. More info here.

HOMEWOOD, Calif. - Deputies from the Placer County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) are on the scene of a shooting near the 5000 block of West Lake Boulevard in Homewood on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe.

PCSO is asking for the public to stay clear of the area.

Deputies are currently handling a critical incident in the area of West Lake Blvd and Silver St. Please stay clear of the area and monitor our social media channels for updates.

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting, and located one victim who has since been transported to the hospital. The victim's status is currently unknown.

The suspect is still outstanding and detectives are currently on scene.
