El Dorado County Supervisor Sue Novasel is inviting all county residents to join in a discussion about the traffic congestion in Meyers every weekend and holiday, hampering locals in their movement along surface roads and the highway.
As visitors depart South Lake Tahoe, many have become aware of side streets via google and phone apps, thus finding another route that they think is getting them around the backup.
There is a growing concern from neighborhood residents regarding the traffic flow off of the main roads and highways and onto local roads and into neighborhoods causing traffic jams and possibly hindering emergency responses. Some of those roads are much harder to pass in winter conditions and the drivers end up creating problems.
Supervisor Novasel would like to engage the public in a conversation about what efforts are currently attempting to address this issue, and hearing residents’ concerns that may also assist with solutions. She will be joined by representatives from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol.
Novasel represents the residents of South Lake Tahoe, Meyers Tahoe and Pollock Pines.
This community meeting is scheduled at 6pm on Monday, February 13th, at the California Conservation Corps (CCC) upstairs conference room located at 1949 Apache Ave. in Meyers. Parking will be limited due to snow storage, please carpool.
