Weather systems could generate some snow at Lake Tahoe

A weak low pressure will sweep over the West on Saturday bringing the potential for light showers over the Sierra and western Nevada, the National Weather Service in Reno reports. Behind it will be a slightly larger system bringing some snow to Lake Tahoe.
Precipitation on Saturday will be light and short lived, with the main impact being cooler temperatures by the afternoon with cloudy during the north flow.
A second, slightly stronger winter system, will quickly pass through the region Monday and drop light amounts of snow over the Sierra and far western Nevada. Snow levels will start around 5,500 feet and drop to valley floors behind the associated cold front with best chance for snow being late morning to mid-afternoon Monday along the front. Little accumulation is expected in western Nevada valleys as roadways will have warmed due to the higher late winter sun angle. Main impacts from Monday’s system look to be light snow accumulations in higher elevations, with slushy accumulation over mountain passes — including Donner Summit — and another drop in temperatures in continued north flow, according to the weather service.
