Break in mild weather this week in South Lake Tahoe

After an extended mild and dry period, winter is going to make a brief reappearance this week in the Lake Tahoe Basin. A quick moving storm will pass through Lake Tahoe Wednesday and Thursday. Exact snow amounts are uncertain due to the warm air ahead of it, and the rapid progression of the storm according to the National Weather Service office in Reno.

Liquid totals in the Sierra look to be 1 to 2 inches.

Snow levels should fall behind the cold front Wednesday night with rapidly deteriorating conditions in the Sierra likely.
