Victim identified in Incline Village stabbing

The Washoe County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) has identified the victim in the January 23, 2018 homicide in Incline Village, Nevada.

David Rivas-Rodgriuez, 70, died from multiple stab wounds allegedly inflicted by his son-in-law, Ismeal Resendiz-Moren, age 44.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on the 23rd, WCSO responded to the 700 block of Southwood Boulevard after a 911 call was received about an injured person inside the residence. When deputies arrived they were able to secure the residence and found Rivas-Rodgriguez. He was declared deceased at the scene.

The suspect, Resendiz-Moreno, was immediately detained by responding deputies and cooperated with the investigation. He was originally arrested on a charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon, but that charge was updated to Murder after an investigation. He is currrently being held in the Washoe County Detention Facility on charges related to this incident.
