Kiwanis to collect items for the South Lake Tahoe Warm Room

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra is asking the South Tahoe Community for help in gathering much-needed items for the Warm Room. With below-freezing temperatures ever night warm clothing and boots can help the local homeless population stay warm and dry and the Warm Room stocked with supplies.

The Kiwanians will be gathering donated items on Saturday, March 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Tahoe Art League, 3062 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.

Items that are needed: Large size warm coats, socks, blankets, laundry detergent, regular drip coffee, sugar and powdered cream, hot cocoa and tea, non-perishable food - Top Ramen, instant oatmeal, Cup O’Noodles, disinfecting wipes and toilet paper.

There will be a tent up in the parking lot so nobody has to get out of their car, just drive up and donate. They'll also remove from the car.

This is just one of the types of service projects the Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra does around town to help make the community a better place to live.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra, please call Cheryl Millham at 530-573-2273.

The Kiwanis Club is also calling on all of the other service clubs in the area as well as our local community to get these much-needed supplies!
