Sunny and warming start to the week in South Lake Tahoe

There is a much calmer forecast for the week ahead in South Lake Tahoe. After a week where snow was measured in feet, the next few days will allow residents to finish shoveling out their driveways.

Looking ahead to this week with new models coming in, there'll be several nice days with ridging overhead. Gradual warming temps each day through Wednesday with that pronounced March sunshine. Storms for Thursday-Saturday look "disheveled and junky," according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. Some spots of mountain light snow, valley rain showers, and gusty winds possible at times during that timeframe but no big storm signals. Future models after that show the possibility of a new storm.
