SR-89 is closed Friday after a snow slide fell onto both lanes near Emerald Bay on the west shore of Lake Tahoe.

As of 2:15 p.m., Caltrans said there is no estimated time of reopening.

Crews on on the scene to clean up the reported 30 yard long section of fallen snow that is 4-8 feet deep.

People over at Squaw Valley for the FIS World Cup Races will need to take an alternative route to head south until Caltrans reopens the road.
