Weather - South Lake Tahoe will have a high today of 48 and a low tonight of 31. Today: A chance of rain before 10am, then rain, possibly mixed with snow. High near 48. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Tonight: Snow showers likely, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Heavenly - Groomed. Trace New Snow in last 24 hours. Base depth is 90". Winds may affect operations today. They plan to have 83% of the mountain open with 24 lifts and 80 runs open. Lift status. A 30 percent chance of snow after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Very windy, with a southwest wind around 55 mph, with gusts as high as 85 mph. Lift status.A chance of snow showers before 10am, then a chance of snow after 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 37. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 18 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph. Message from Sierra: Saturdays are for shredding, and in the past 24 hrs Sierra has received an estimated 6 inches of fresh snow to play in! We're getting started at 8:30 am this morning with 10 lifts + tows spinning, accessing 44 open trails, 30 cords, and 6 parks. The forecast is calling for snow showers, so come prepared with waterproof layers! Highway 50 is open, however roads are icy so take your time heading up and bring chains, as 88 + 89 are on chain control. A chance of snow showers before 10am, then a chance of snow after 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 30. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 17 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Facebook message from Kirkwood: Current temperature @the base 28 with 24@the summit, winds SW 17/29mph with gusts in the 25ish range… Expect winds to increase and snow to move back in as ‪#‎MotherNature‬ returns this afternoon with round two of a three punch series…The lull will be brief as another storm arrives on Saturday. Heavy snow is expected by late morning and will continue through Saturday night, bringing very difficult travel conditions. Winds in the northern and central Sacramento Valley will increase on Saturday, so a Wind Advisory is in effect after 10 am through 5 pm, with gusts to 45 mph. Even stronger winds arrive Sunday afternoon and evening, and may cover a more extensive portion of the Valley. Local power outages are possible with falling trees and branches. Another system arrives on Sunday with no discernible break in mountain snow. The weekend precipitation will be focused on the mountains and foothills north of Highway 50. Major weekend travel impacts are expected in those areas, with heavy snow at times. This will continue into early Monday. Totals of around 3’ to 4’ feet are possible in the Sierra from pass level and above.
