New fee schedule and SnowGlobe on City Council agenda Tuesday

The South Lake Tahoe City Council will look at the new Master Fee schedule during the March 14 meeting, something they do annually. The proposed fees and charges for 2015-16 show no change for users of the recreation center or campground, a $2 to $3 increase in daily golf course fees, a $5 to $15 increase in golf course passes.

It is proposed the campground, though in a prime location near the beach, not have rates increased because of the current condition of the sites as well as pending changes to the 56-acre project. Rates are from $24 to $40 for a campsite, $51 to $80 for the two cabins.

Some ice arena fees are slated to go up slightly, while others will remain the same. Party room rental rates will go up, while some hockey league and daily skate fees will go up.

The Council will be voting on Public Works engineering and plan fee increases in their ongoing effort of cost recovery for services provided.

Some of the biggest increases slated are those for use on the airport taxiway and terminal ramps.

Other items on the Council's agenda include the mid-year budget and hiring Michael Baker International Inc., for environmental impact analysis services for the Southwest Corner/Bijou Park Creek Project. This is the area that will receive water quality improvements should the City receive the Proposition 1 grant funds from the California Tahoe Conservancy to purchase, and demolish, the Knight's Inn.

SnowGlobe promoter Chad Donnelly is asking the City for reimbursement of $13,731 in additional transit and refuse costs. The Council will vote on that expenditure.

The meeting will start off Tuesday in closed session with legal counsel to discuss existing litigation involved Councilwoman JoAnn Conner's lawsuits against City Manager Nancy Kerry and the City of South Lake Tahoe. Conner will not be at that meeting.
