Message from Sierra: Spring may have sprung, but Old Man Winter is still putting up a good fight! Sierra received an estimated foot of new snow overnight, on top of the 4 inches we measured during the day yesterday. That brings our 24 hour storm total to an estimated 16 inches and counting! It is still snowing heavily here at the base, however the forecast is calling for the snow to cease mid-morning. Depending on how the weather feels we may have a stormy day on deck, or even see the sun pop out later for a bluebird afternoon. In the meantime, come prepared with both sets of lenses and plenty of layers, and get ready to slash some pow! 9 lifts and tows are scheduled to spin at 9 am, accessing all 46 open trails across the mountain including 32 groomers. Currently, all 8 parks are marked as open, however that may change once our crew assesses the snowfall. Highways 50, 88, + 89 are all currently on chain control restrictions, so take your time heading up and give the drivers around you plenty of room!
