LTUSD transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, and new student enrollment period opens

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) transitional kindergarten, kindergarten, and new student registration is now open for the 2024-2025 school year.

The first step is to complete the online pre-enrollment at https://laketahoe.asp.aeries.net/air, and on ltusd.org under the “Schools” tab, visit https://www.ltusd.org/schools/kindergarten_tk_registration_24_25 and see the list of what to do next. Please bring in the described paperwork to your zoned elementary school site to complete the registration process.

To learn more about which transportation zone you reside in, please visit the LTUSD interactive map on ltusd.org under “Parents” or here: LTUSD Elementary Transportation Zone Map. If you are interested in attending a school outside of your zoned school, select your preferred school in the dropdown menu in Aeries Online Enrollment, and you will be placed on a waiting list. Families will be notified as soon as possible and no later than June 30. Please note that LTUSD only provides limited transportation when attending schools outside of your zone.

Kindergarten:
● In order to be eligible for K, your child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024. (CA State Law).
● Kindergarten opportunities are available at all 4 of our elementary schools (Tahoe Valley, Sierra House, Meyers, and Bijou)

Transitional Kindergarten (TK):
● In order to be eligible for TK, your child must turn 5 years old between September 2-June 1.
● TK opportunities are available at the following sites
○ Bijou Elementary (Transportation Zone 1)
○ Tahoe Valley Elementary (Transportation Zones 2 & 3)

The following documents are required to be delivered to the school site to complete TK & K enrollment. Once the paperwork is received, an appointment will be made to bring your child in for an initial assessment. (You can pick up hard copies at any elementary school.)
1. Child's birth certificate. (CA Law)

3. Health examination (please schedule with your family physician). (CA Law)
4. Oral health examination (dental examinations that have occurred in the last 12 months meet this requirement). (CA Law)
5. Proof of California residency (lease agreement, mortgage statement, or utility statement)

The first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year is Monday, August 26, 2024.
