Volunteers needed for South Lake Tahoe Science Expo

The 2019 Science Expo being held at Lake Tahoe Community College by the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center is still in need of volunteers for the event between April 2-5, 2019. Volunteers will facilitate a hands-on science investigation station with small groups of elementary students. No experience necessary, just a willingness to have fun and share science with local youth.

Training will be provided on April 1 5:30 p.m. at the college or prior to each Science Expo shift.

The North Lake Tahoe Science Expo just wrapped up where over 1,000 students learned about Physical Science through interactive and engaging demonstrations and experiments.

The event is not possible without the help of volunteers, a rewarding and fun experience. If you are interested and available, there are multiple two-hour sessions in need of more volunteers throughout next week. Volunteers may sign up for one or more shifts:

Tuesday, Apr. 2: Morning, early afternoon
Wednesday, Apr. 3: Morning
Thursday, Apr. 4: Morning, early afternoon, evening (public event)
Friday, Apr. 5: Morning, early afternoon
