Fundraising site for North Lake Tahoe 7-year-old snowboarder heading to USASA Nationals

A 7-year-old Tahoe City athlete is heading to the USASA Nationals Snowboarding Championships from March 29-April 9, and he is fundraising to help with expenses including airfare, entry fees, hotel, rental car, and food.

"Leland the Falcon" Vogt is the son of Chuck Vogt, the founder of nonprofit fundraising events Skake The Lake, Boarding for Breast Cancer, and owner of Tahoe Longboards.

After first snowboarding at the age of two, Leland has been competing in the USASA for three years and has 19 gold medal first-place finishes. He now qualifies to compete for the National title in the disciplines of Slopestyle, Boardercross, GS, and Slalom.

The family has started a GoFundMe page to assist with expenses with a goal of $2,500.

His Instagram and Facebook are @lelandthefalcon. The USASA can be referenced at usasa.org.

"Thank you for helping our family help this little boy live his dream," said the GoFundMe page.
